FAQ

Thanks for considering Megaton Minis for your miniature needs! Some, but possibly not all, of the following will pertain to your project, so please read this completely.

PAYMENT – Credit or debit card accepted. 30% non-refundable deposit due before start of project 60% due upon Client Final Approval via email, the remaining 10% due upon receipt of work.

SPECIAL REQUESTS – Features like extensive freehand work, specific glows, Object Sourced Lighting, other special effects or complex/critical decal work etc should be discussed during initial pricing and unless specifically called for at that time, can incur CHANGE ORDER FEES.

SHIPPING & HANDLING (5%) – Insured USPS is used to deliver work and is included in S&H. It often requires a signature on delivery due to insurance. Your delivery method of materials is at your discretion.

WORKFLOW – If assembly is required, sub-assemblies are often used to facilitate painting. Final assembly will be shown for client approval after priming. The order of painting is usually prime, base color, shading/highlighting, detail work, washes and final sealing with matte polyurethane unless other finish is requested.

UPDATES – When sufficient work has been completed to warrant feedback, images will be emailed for approval. This is the point to request changes on present work. Not commenting specifically on something that is new is considered “tacit” approval for that current work. It's best to comment on new work when it's received, and timely feedback is greatly appreciated. I may show things for clarification as a Work In Progress with an explanation of the direction, I.E. “This will have more coats, but is the color right?” “The effect will be more dramatic, but is this how it should look?” etc. The quicker things are approved, the quicker the project can be completed. Often further progress is based upon already approved work, so asking for revisions on previously approved stages of work can incur CHANGE ORDER FEES.

APPROVAL – I may ask for explicit APPROVAL at some stages before moving on with work.

REVISIONS - Throughout the project some back and forth over the work is expected. Minor revisions are anticipated to make a product to the clients wishes. Major revisions are not expected and will incur CHANGE ORDER FEES. For clarification, please see the list below with several Minor Revision and Major Revision examples.

CHANGE ORDER FEES – If there is a need for a CHANGE ORDER an agreed to dollar amount will be negotiated before the work can be started. The amount may be based on a flat fee or a per hour basis, depending on the work involved. The agreed to amount will be added to the final tab.

Minor Revisions : minor alterations of base color or shading/highlighting (I. E. darker, lighter, more reddish etc) slight changes to coverage (bigger highlights, shading areas), increasing wash, etc

Major Revisions : major changes to approved base color or highlighting/shading (I.E. changing from red to blue after approval); decal relocation, removal of approved washes, changes to inaccessible parts after attachment, etc
